Union County is hosting its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Union County Agricultural Center, located at 3230 Presson Road. The event is FREE for Union County residents.
All materials must be in their original labeled containers. Below is a list of acceptable materials:
- paints
- pesticides
- herbicides
- household cleaners
- oil
- gasoline
(up to 5 gallons each of any of the above materials) - full or partially full cans of spray paint (up to 10 cans)
(Note: empty cans of spray paint can be disposed of with your normal household trash) - up to 3 propane or helium tanks (grill size only)
- up to five boxes of documents for shredding
- expired or unneeded medications (over-the-counter, prescription, or unknown) for safe disposal through Operation Medicine Drop, a service of the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
