[ARCHIVED] Union County State of Emergency Extended to Include Indian Trail for Winter Storm Gianna

State of Emergency Declared Ahead of Winter Storm Gianna

Union County Commissioners have declared a State of Emergency ahead of Winter Storm Gianna, which will go into effect Saturday, January 31, at 7 a.m. Mayor David Cohn has consented to extend this declaration into the Town of Indian Trail.

Per a press release from Union County, a State of Emergency "gives the Sheriff's Office authority to close roads impacted by hazardous conditions and issue citations to motorists who disregard emergency barricades. The declaration also allows the County's administrative team to increase funding allocated for emergency purposes."

Residents are encouraged to continue preparing for the storm, avoid unnecessary travel this weekend, and stay weather-aware by signing up for UC Alerts
