A comprehensive plan is a long-range roadmap for the future of a community which examines and makes recommendations on a variety of planning activities.
Some examples include:
This type of plan provides information about conditions, trends and
areas of improvement needed in a community and identifies actions needed
to address them. These recommendations are not mandates but are
guidelines that give the Town direction in establishing a roadmap for
future growth and community development. While not required in most
municipalities, the Town of Indian Trail creates a Comprehensive Plan to
articulate its community vision.
