Citizens Academy

Applications for the 2025 Citizens Academy are closed.

Program Overview

The Town of Indian Trail Citizens Academy is an eight-week program designed to inform residents and community stakeholders about the operations of local government. The program is designed for anyone 18 years and older interested in learning more about local government and how they can get involved in their community.

This interactive program offers a blend of hands-on learning, facility tours, field trips, and in-depth discussions with your peers, Town Council Members, and Town staff, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how the Town of Indian Trail operates. Participants can expect to gain a deeper understanding of key topics, including the initiatives and projects shaping the community's future. Beyond the educational component, the Citizens Academy also serves as a platform for residents to meet new people, share ideas, and collaborate with Town staff in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

At the end of the eight-week program, participants will have gained a deeper understanding of the Town of Indian Trail's organizational structure and operations.
